Franklin Gothic Zine
The intent behind this 14-page zine is to examine and illustrate the letters and characters of the Franklin Gothic typeface. I wanted to incorporate movement to give the zine an energetic or "electric" feel, as the typeface was named after Benjamin Franklin, the discoverer of electricity. The zine includes a page that showcases all letters and special characters (1), a spread that accentuates a special feature of the typeface (3,4), a spread that showcases the anatomy of the typeface (7,8), a spread that presents real-life examples of the typeface in use (9,10), along with a spread that contains a pangram (11,12). These designs were made using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.
